ENCORE / Free Read from my latest book
"You don't write because you want to say something; You write because you have something to say."
F. Scott Fitzgerald
Suffice it to say that my writing is rarely frivolous, that is to say strictly for entertainment. When I take the time to sit and write, I usually have something to say, my short stories are allegorical and deal with a variety of societal and cultural issues, all wrapped up in a palatable and easy to digest story. No headbanging or ax to grind,
I only want to make the reader think long after the story ends.
For your enjoyment, a free read from my most recent book, THIS SIDE OF CENTER / ENCORE, the title story. This fast read addresses an issue that should concern all of us, and especially in the coming months here in the east. I used several details from my life as a musician on the road to enhance the scene you will be reading through, as well as my fondness for the particular pieces of music mentioned. I can't say much about the story itself, without reveal the surprise ending. So, I will leave you with the synopsis and the link to my website. Enjoy!
"On a cold winter’s day a former musician recalls his life on the road while waiting outside for a concert to start, then reveals the worst secrets about himself as the band starts playing."
